Which way? Which way? Ever since Iraq fell, our many-tentacled government has been publicly quibbling over WHICH shoe to drop next?

At first it seemed Syria was the Chosen Land - and it's still definitely on the list, but for some reason - perhaps insufficient oil, it has been set aside for now

Other names were bandied about. Pakistan, which had been our ally against Iraq (could we be so duplicitous? Yes, of course, but not NOW. Not yet.) And Saudi Arabia - a long-time "friend" now squirming under an unaccustomed scrutiny of its "worthiness" for our friendship. Sure it has oil, is obedient for the most part, and suppresses its subjects - but, as the neocons say, we could "do better." Again, S.A. is not out of the woods.
