Dr. Britt studied the fascist regimes of Hitler (Germany), Mussolini (Italy), Franco (Spain), Suharto (Indonesia), and Pinochet (Chile).

He found the regimes all had 14 things in common, and he calls these the identifying characteristics of fascism.

Dear American Friends: We must put the West together again. Our 60-year-old community of Europe and the United States, which we have called in shorthand "the West", has been grotesquely split over Iraq. In recent months, a new Eurasian axis of France, Germany and Russia has squared up against a Euratlantic alliance of the US, Britain and Spain. Now, after the victory in Iraq, the future of the West will be decided in the Middle East. If we care about the West, we need to work out together what to do about the Middle East. more >>
